Remember when I told you in my last post that Sebastian Mikael (formerly, De-Lor) was only a few short weeks away from delivering some serious heat?  While many of you may associate Sebastian’s music with a more acoustic, mellow sound, “Take Me Higher” marks the first public tasting of Sebastian’s upbeat, pop side.  Effortlessly reaching the high notes over the piano tap production from LU Balz, Sebastian exposes his innate ability to tackle various genre’s, which is why many of us are confident we are witnessing the birth of a star.

If you’re in or around CT, don’t miss out on seeing Sebastian perform alongside The White Panda at Showcase (28th) & Toads Place(29th).

Pop, RnB, Videos | Sebastian Mikael – “Gonna Be Real” & “What’s Going On” [Live Acoustic Performance]

Posted by on November 28, 2012

Remember that incredibly talented singer/songwriter/musician who attended Berklee College of Music and went by the name “De-Lor“? Well that young star has gone through a few small transformations in the past several months, including a brand repositioning move, now performing under his birth name, Sebastian Mikael. More significantly, Sebastian has found himself in the spotlight after inking a deal with Slip-N-Slide Records, an imprint of Sony’s Epic Records. Prepping for his 2013 full length studio debut, the Swedish sensation provides an acoustic treatment for “Gonna Be Real” and “What’s Going On” live at Brooklyn’s Converse Rubber Tracks Studios. Both yet to be released, “Gonna Be Real” is an original track, produced by the Grammy Award Winner, Jim Jonsin, who I hear has been cooking up some heat with Sebastian and the second track is a soulful cover of Stevie Wonder’s “What’s Going On”. In addition to working with Jim Jonsin, Sebastian has been rumored to be in sessions with Rico Love and other notable producers, artists, and songwriters.

Sebastian has the ability to break into various genre’s, but for me, his impassioned sound is what makes these acoustic performances so captivating. With that being said, I can GUARANTEE he has a variety of HEAT coming very soon.

Videos | De-Lor Performs “Luckiest Man” Live At Venice Beach

De-Lor Performs “Luckiest Man” Live @ Venice Beach from JadoreTeam on Vimeo.

Although De-Lor has been quiet as of late, that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been working. De-Lor recently went out to the west coast to shoot his the highly anticipated video for “Beautiful Life.” Along the way, he made a stop in Venice Beach for an impromptu performance to serenade patrons of the boardwalk. Looks like there was one blonde in particular that really took a liking to the performance. As a bonus, I’ve included more behind the scenes footage courtesy of DJ Moneybags. Hit “read on” for more.

I introduced Maye Star a couple weeks back with the release of his first single, “Go Hard”, off his upcoming mixtape, Mayeham.  In lieu of the birth of baby jesus, Maye gift wrapped rapped up this promo freestyle over Bow Wow’s track, “Crunch Time”, produced by Roc Nation’s own Jahlil Beats on this crisp Christmas afternoon.  This track will not be featured on Maye’s upcoming mixtape, but gives you an idea of the wordplay he is capable of exercising.  With features on the project from XXL Freshman 2012 nominee, Los, fellow Bostonians, Moufy & De-Lor among others, this FNT sponsored tape is already shaping up to be a breakout project.

P.S. Did I mention this kid’s only 16?

While De-Lor is still riding high on the recent release of his debut mixtape, J’adore, opening up for several prominent acts and recently headlining his first show in Boston, he continues to release new visuals from the project.  This video gives us a look behind the scenes of Sebastian creating “Cruel”, shot and edited by Arthur Johnson.  Although De-Lor has released some electro pop hits, he is no stranger to acoustic instruments and is a very talented musician as well as singer and producer.  Be sure to link with De-Lor on his social pages below!

Hip-Hop, Rap | Maye Star ft. Deon Chase – Go Hard

MayeHam 580x580 Maye Star ft. Deon Chase Go Hard

Maye Star. Now that you’ve heard the name, remember it. The young MC residing in Boston is lyrically infectious.  I first caught wind of Maye Star when I saw him open for YONAS several months back in Boston.  He proceeded to roll lyrics off his tongue like he had been doing it for years.  There’s no question he’s got a rare ability to spit it quick, but it should be known his lyrics hold truth and personality as well.  ”Go Hard” features fellow Boston artist, Deon Chase, and serves as the newest single off his upcoming mixtape, MayeHam.  The project will include features from Moufy as well as Los (who Maye has impressed time and time again at post show cyphers), and FNT regular De-Lor.  This may be the first time we’ve featured Maye Star, but it certainly won’t be the last.
